DC-10-15 V2-SKY (c/n 48275, line number 358) of Aerowings is seen here at Maastricht (its homebase) in the Netherlands on July 02nd 2002.
It had a configuration of 352 all economy seats, but they were "all-leather" I was assured ! The operational support came from Charleroi in Belgium but the DC-10 was based in Maastricht and used for Haji flights and adhoc charters. It was the only aircraft Aerowings had.

By October the news came:
"Astra Airlines (AWG/Geneva) took delivery of its first aircraft, a DC-10-15 (V2-SKY). It is planning to operate charter flights and mainly to offer the aircraft for wet-lease. "
Few DC-10's remain in Europe (Aero Lyon of France is another operator with DC-10's) and it's nice to see it get's another chance; hopefully the odds have improved.
