Zoom Airlines was founded in May 2002 by Hugh and John Boyle. 7.5% of the company was purchased in August 2006 by the Bank of Scotland. A division, Zoom UK, was based at London-Gatwick,UK.
Zoom AL entered administration on 28Aug08, ceasing all operations.
Remaining assets were purchased in Jan09 by Globe Span Capital Corp and relocated to Kingston, Ontario and aims for a restart in mid-2009.
